Finished Seven Surrenders, book two of the Terra Ignota series. Completely hooked, can’t talk about it without sounding kind of insane. On to book three!
What I’m playing
Big Walk is an absolute delight! It looks like “friendslop” but has much more polish, care, and attention put into it than it may seem from the graphics.
What I’m watching
The Weird Al movie was a fun meta-mocking-biopic, a-la Walk Hard but more over the top. Overall enjoyed it with the exception of the Madonna-Pablo Escobar side plot.
What I’m thinking about
More agent swarms and Bernie tweeting about pausing AI. I read someone say that they feel like the early days of Covid - Febrary 2020, maybe - where they see things happening but the world hasn’t reacted yet. The emergent reward-pursuing behavior of these swarms has updated my timelines and thoughts on risk, need to spend some time reflecting (time to re-read AI 2027!). What will our government do? Nothing, I think, until we see something quite bad happen - multi-day broad internet outage, something affecting the physical world, etc.
