Halfway through Inference Engineering from BaseTen. Good high-level overview for someone who has no experience in this field. Lots of rabbit holes I want to dig further into!
What I’m playing
Some very silly multiplayer Slay the Spire 2 runs with Matthew and Dad. Leaning in on obvious synergies, Matthew and I played double Silent and all three of us played Necrobinder. Necrobinder was ridiculous - we thought we were on the brink of losing in Act 1 and steamrolled the final boss in a few turns with some absurd doom + damage scaling.
What I’m watching
Continuing our streak of watching Paul Thomas Anderson movies when Rory is sleeping over with grandparents, Kaitlin and I watched Hard Eight last night. I was expecting something more exciting and high-stakes, casino gambling, etc., but it was surprisingly intimate and focused on a just a few events. Recommend, but for me ranks below Punch-Drunk Love and Boogie Nights.
What Rory is doing
I bought a Kids Ride Shotgun Pro Evo, so Rory has been doing a lot of riding on the front of my mountain bike. Just around town, but he loves it. I want to find some light trails to give a bit more excitement (Skyline Park is a bit intense), and I’m hoping that this gets him more interested in his own balance bike.
